The main reason behind the 700+ 5-star reviews we’ve received is our thorough exam process and advanced technology. We are dedicated to preserving the gift of sight, and what sets us apart from other clinics is that we don’t cut corners. Here’s what you can expect during a full eye exam with us:

Our Process: Pre-Testing Overview
Before seeing the doctor, a series of advanced pre-tests help us gather important information about your eyes. These assessments allow for more accurate prescriptions and the early detection of potential eye and health conditions.
Lensometry
Reads Your Current Glasses Prescription
We use a digital lensometer to measure the prescription in your current glasses. This helps us understand what you’re used to—and identify what has or hasn’t been working for you.
Cornea and Glaucoma Screening
Initial Eye Measurements for Prescription and Eye Health
Using a combination device (autorefractor, keratometer, tonometer, and pachymeter), we measure your eye pressure, corneal curvature, thickness, and an initial prescription estimate. These values are important for refining your prescription and screening for risk factors such as glaucoma.
Detailed Imaging of the Retina
We capture high-definition images of the back of the eye using two systems: a standard retinal camera and the Nikon Optomap for ultra-widefield imaging. These scans help detect and monitor conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinal detachments—often before symptoms appear.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
3D Scans of Retina, Optic Nerve, or Cornea When Needed
When indicated, we perform OCT imaging to obtain detailed cross-sectional scans of the retina, optic nerve, or cornea. This technology allows us to investigate sight-threatening conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other retinal diseases with a high degree of precision.
Peripheral Vision Testing
Full Visual Field Assessment When Needed
Using an automated perimeter, we assess the full range of your peripheral vision. This test is recommended when evaluating for glaucoma, neurological conditions (like stroke or brain tumors), or for meeting driver’s license or aviation medical requirements.
Comprehensive Doctor of Optometry Exams
Understanding Your Concerns
Medical & Family History Review
A thorough review of your general health, medications, and relevant family history helps us assess risk factors for eye and systemic conditions.
Review of Pre-Test Results
We explain the results of your initial testing and how they relate to your eye health and vision needs.
Brief Neurological Check
Includes assessment of your pupil reactions and eye muscle coordination to screen for neurological or muscular concerns
Peripheral Vision Screening
A quick check of your side vision to help detect early signs of neurological disorders.
Prescription Determination
Using a digital phoropter, we determine your most accurate eyeglass prescription, with adjustments tailored for daily, occupational, or recreational activities.
Front-of-Eye Health Assesment
A detailed examination of the eyelids, lashes, cornea, iris, lens, and tear film using an LED slit lamp microscope.
Back-of-Eye Evaluation
When indicated, we dilate your pupils for a comprehensive view of the optic nerve, macula, blood vessels, and retina using advanced instruments including the binocular indirect ophthalmoscope and digital retinal imaging.
Diagnosis & Patient Education
You’ll receive clear explanations of any findings, whether normal or concerning, along with a treatment plan for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, or macular degeneration.
Further Testing or Referrals When Needed
If necessary, we may order additional testing such as OCT scans or visual field exams. For more complex findings, we’ll refer you to an appropriate specialist (e.g., ophthalmologist, neurologist, endocrinologist, or rheumatologist) and send a detailed report to your family doctor.
At the End of Your Visit
You’ll receive your prescription, invoice, and printed educational materials, with any next steps clearly explained.
