Technology that sets us apart

Optos Retinal Imaging

Optos – an advanced imaging technology that captures up to 82% of the retina in a single image, compared to only 15% with standard retinal photography. This wide-field view allows for earlier detection and more accurate monitoring of potentially vision-threatening eye diseases, as well as systemic conditions that can affect your overall health. Best of all, this 1 second scan is harmless, comfortable, and no dilation drops.

Capable of detecting: retinal detachment, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, stroke, cancer, infectious, auto-immune, inflammatory, and genetic disease, medication side effects and more.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Advanced 3D Eye Imaging

With our Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT), we can capture 3D cross-sectional images of the eye, allowing us to visualize and quantify the layers of the retina in great detail—similar to how an MRI provides detailed images of the body. This technology represents the highest standard of care for diagnosing and managing conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and various retinal diseases. Additionally, the OCT simultaneously captures high-resolution retinal photos, enabling our doctors to instantly compare the surface layers (“top of the cake”) with the deeper layers of the retina—ensuring a comprehensive and precise analysis.

State-of-the-Art Digital Phoropters for Precision

Gone are the days of manual lens flipping and measurement. At Solar Eye Care, we’ve invested in digital phoropters and lensometers to craft the most precise glasses prescriptions possible. With this advanced technology, we can show you real-time comparisons of your old prescription versus your new one, allowing you to experience the improvement firsthand and ensuring the most accurate results tailored to your needs.

Automated Perimeter for Visual Field Testing

We utilize the latest Octopus 900 automated perimeter, which evaluates visual fields in half the time of traditional methods. This exact machine is commonly used by glaucoma specialists, it allows for quicker and more accurate assessments. It’s particularly useful for investigating conditions such as glaucoma, stroke, brain tumors, and for meeting driver or pilot testing requirements.

slitlamp2

Advanced LED Slit-Lamp Binocular Microscopes

Our LED slit-lamp binocular microscopes provide doctors with the ability to assess with high-resolution optics bright lights using various filters, offering 25x magnification for a detailed examination of your eyes. These advanced instruments are essential for diagnosing and monitoring a range of conditions, including cataracts, conjunctivitis, infections, skin cancers, dry eye, and more. This technology allows us to assess your eye health with unparalleled precision and clarity.

Automated Initial Eye Health Assessment

We use an advanced autorefractor/keratometer/tonometer/pachymeter combo machine to automate the initial measurements of your prescription, eye pressure, and corneal curvature and thickness. This comprehensive tool serves as the foundation for determining your new prescription, while also screening for potential glaucoma and corneal diseases, ensuring a thorough evaluation of both your vision and overall eye health.

Digital Lensometers

for Faster, More Accurate Measurements

We utilize digital lensometers in both our pre-test and doctor rooms to measure your current glasses prescription. These advanced devices provide precise, rapid measurements, ensuring that we can efficiently assess your existing prescription and make any necessary adjustments—significantly faster than traditional manual methods
